My first ever blog post... new technology is only new if you haven't used it before... so for me, blogging is a new technology! I am excited today to announce that yesterday Robert Evans put up my temporary sign outside of my new office location! My office will be opening in June and it will be my primary location for classes and testing. I will still be meeting with clients in their homes, a convenience many appreciate. However, the office can be used as an alternate location for those times when the home is not ideal. (Yes, the client with nine children at home thought it would be best to meet elsewhere... )
This is an exciting time for me! Thank you for your continued support as my business grows! I will keep this blog updated as things proceed. Thank you for reading! Happy Spring!
I am immensely excited to officially share that I am broadening my business with a new model for helping to serve those in need of quality tutoring services. As you know, I pride myself on my customized one-on-one tutoring. However, I have had many requests for short term or last minute tutoring, as well as requests for small classes. Because I want to improve my offerings and also because I want to affect as much positive change as possible in the educational paths of students, I am changing my business model to include some classes and mini-prep sessions. Furthermore, due in part to my overall business growth, I have secured a lease for an office. This office will not only allow me to provide a more stable test environment, it will also allow me to host classes. Additionally, if anyone needs to meet outside his/her home, then this location will serve that need as well. I plan to move into the office around June 1st and start seeing students there later that same month. The office is on the second floor of the Jem Bookstore building, 4815 FM 2351 Suite 204, Friendswood, TX 77546; it is just next to Clear Brook High School. Please keep an eye out for signage soon! For the classes, in June, July and August, I will be focusing on a few traditional types of ACT and SAT Test Prep classes. A significant difference between my classes and those of my competition is that I am maxing out my classes at 8 students. These classes will be taught to the general topics of the tests, but I will still be able to adjust the presentations if the students in the room require more specific content assistance; I will be following a plan, not a script. For the mini-prep classes, I will focus on an umbrella coverage for the overall test (ACT and SAT will be separate.) The mini-prep classes will be from 1-3 weeks prior to national test dates. To see specific dates for classes, go to the Scheduling page. There you can find a way to schedule your own appointments online! Scheduling is being done through a new online scheduling module, which includes payments being processed through PayPal© financial services. These are a lot of changes! I am working with my assistant Frances to iron out many details. But, we could use your help! If you see something that seems incorrect, or if you have some input that could otherwise benefit our rollout of these changes, then please share! I welcome your feedback – after all, you are the clients who got me to where I am today! We will be changing things on the website almost daily and then I hope to freeze the changes in June, at least for a few months, so we can see how everything settles. I will be keeping you posted, in far briefer memos, and I hope you will continue to keep me in mind for your current and future tutoring needs! Thank you for your continued support, referrals and business! If you ever have any questions, please let me know! |
