My name is Moira Praxedes and I am not only the owner of the company, but also the only tutor, at least for now! Many people have asked to know a little more about me, so here are some tidbits:
(Some would say that my background is varied…I like to say it is interesting!)
I have moved and travelled more than many people, and I believe travel and adventure is a life requirement. Flying overseas or across the country on a moment's notice is exhilarating for me. I have learned to help my own mental being by planning several trips per year, even if short ones. These days I am a little addicted to cruises, but practically any travel is a plus.
I was raised in Pennsylvania and have lived in several states and a few countries. I have seen each of our fifty states and many countries around the world. I have set foot on six of the seven continents of the world and keep debating about the last one.
I went to high school in Arlington, Massachusetts, Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania, and Poway, California. My college education started at Muskingum College (now Muskingum University), and then I graduated with a Math/Computer Science Bachelor's degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. My graduate work includes an MBA from the University of Minnesota and work toward a PhD in Management at the University of Houston.
I have been employed in a wide variety of industries: Jack-in-the-Box and Subway; Gateway 2000 and Compuware; Houston Independent School District and University of Houston. My roles have ranged from dishwasher to Project Manager... and now Owner!
I even own another business, which is in the boutique world. That company is named Phoebe's Frippery, and I sell clothing, jewelry, and a wide range of gifts. I work independently and as a vendor in markets, especially around the holidays. Please check my website www.phoebesfrippery.com.
When I have spare time (what's that?), I tend to work on math workbooks…seriously… and I enjoy watching crime and medical dramas (Law & Order franchise should be a channel in my opinion) and hanging out with my dogs. They make me smile every single day.
What else would you like to know about me? Feel free to ask!
